journal- week 6

Update on my life :)  Well, I've been in Perú for 6 weeks.  I can't believe how fast it has gone!

We've finished two classes and half-way through another class.  Linguistics was a challenging class, but has been so helpful as I keep learning Spanish.  1 & 2 Thessalonians was exactly what I needed spiritually.  It was very encouraging :)  This week we're taking Cultural Anthropology.

On Friday, we were able to meet the founder of ARRIBA!  He's quite the legend :)  When he came, he told us a couple stories from his missionary experiences.  He has been greatly used of God for decades here in Perú :)

Yesterday, Pastor Jim reminded us that God is using this time in our lives to grow us :)  It's all temporary.  Stress of trying to learn another language and trying to balance family life while adjusting to a new culture.  But it will all be worth it!  For eternity :)

"For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.
"So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.  For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,   as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:15-18)
